Tour of Nurse Examiner Program for Patients with Disabilities

When someone experiences sexual assault, the YWCA is there to provide help.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, you might not be sure what to do next. The Nurse Examiner Program (NEP) is there to provide a safe place to get care after an assault. At the NEP, specially trained nurses are available to check your body for injuries and to collect evidence, with your permission. There can be an advocate there to provide emotional support before, during, and after the exam if you need it.

If you or someone you know is in need of NEP services, these videos will help explain the next steps.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, call the 24-Hour YWCA Help Line at 616-454-9922.
