POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department while advancing the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. This role plays a vital part in ensuring equitable, compliant, and people-centered HR practices across the organization.
The HR Generalist supports recruitment, onboarding, employee record management, benefits administration, and HR compliance, while serving as a trusted point of contact for employees. This position helps foster a respectful, inclusive, and trauma-informed workplace by ensuring HR processes are accessible, consistent, and aligned with YWCA values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Onboarding
Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including posting positions, coordinating interviews, and maintaining applicant tracking systems (ADP Recruiting, MI Talent Bank, Indeed, Career Fairs, etc.).
Assist with pre-employment processes, including offer documentation, background checks, fingerprinting, and employment eligibility verification.
Coordinate new-hire onboarding, ensuring timely completion of required documentation, system access, and orientation materials.
Partner with hiring managers to ensure welcoming, mission-aligned onboarding experience.
Support outreach and recruitment efforts designed to attract diverse, qualified, and mission-aligned candidates.
Employee Records & HR Administration
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
Update HR systems (ADP Workforce Now, Employee Navigator, Bizstream, etc.) with employee status changes, job updates, and demographic information.
Prepare HR correspondence, employment verifications, and routine HR documentation.
Assist with audits, reporting, and data requests to support compliance and operational accuracy.
Benefits & Payroll Support
Provide administrative support for benefits enrollment, life events, and employee questions in coordination with HR leadership.
Assist employees with navigating benefit platforms and understanding enrollment deadlines.
Support payroll and timekeeping processes by responding to employee inquiries and assisting with documentation and corrections as needed.
Reconcile invoices (Medical, 403b deposits, HSA deposits, dental, vision, parking, YWCA Retirement Fund)
Assist with grant-related staffing documentation, position tracking, and workforce reporting requirements.
Support HR compliance related to grant-funded positions and funding requirements.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and employee records systems.
Employee Support & Compliance
Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, ensuring timely responses and appropriate escalation when needed.
Support compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies, including confidentiality, anti-discrimination, and non-retaliation standards.
Assist with training coordination, policy acknowledgments, and HR communications.
Model professionalism, empathy, and discretion in all employee interactions.
Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, corrective action tracking, and conflict resolution under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources.
Maintain confidential records related to employee concerns, accommodation, leave requests, and workplace investigations.
Support performance management processes, including probationary reviews, annual evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
Support the implementation and administration of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook provisions.
Assist with unemployment claims, employment verifications, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness activities, and organizational culture-building efforts.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and employee records systems.
Leave Administration
Assist in administering leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and state-mandated leave programs.
Track leave requests and maintain required documentation in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Training & Development
Coordinate employee training programs, including onboarding, compliance training, professional development, and learning management system assignments.
Maintain training records and monitor completion of required certifications and compliance training.
HR Metrics & Reporting
Generate and analyze HR reports related to recruitment, turnover, retention, benefits, training, and workforce demographics.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for leadership, HR Committee, and Board meetings.
Assist with preparation of materials, reports, and supporting documentation for HR Committee meetings and Board reporting.
Safety & Risk Management
Assist with workplace safety initiatives, incident reporting, workers' compensation administration, and risk management activities.
Coordinate required employment posters, compliance notices, and workplace safety documentation.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
Working closely with the Vice President of Development and Partnerships, sets overall philanthropic strategy for the YWCA, including crafting annual and multi-year fundraising plans. The Director of Development is responsible for leading and executing the YWCA’s comprehensive fundraising strategy to support operational and strategic goals. This role oversees all aspects of fund development, donor relations, and fundraising communications, while managing a high-performing team and fostering cross-departmental collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Development & Revenue Generation
Design, implement, and monitor annual and multi-year philanthropic plans, including revenue and expense projections for the Development Department
Develop strategies to grow sustainable, unrestricted revenue through diverse channels, including annual, monthly, major, and planned giving; increase the individual and major donors/clubs; individual, corporate, and foundation giving; events; appeals; and legacy gifts with an annual goal of $1M+
Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and Partnerships and program staff to identify and cultivate major gift opportunities
Serve as liaison to the Fund Development Committee and ensure appropriate administrative support
Evaluate fundraising strategies and provide regular dashboard reports on key philanthropic metrics and progress toward development goals
Lead and manage the major gifts program, including multi-year commitments
Oversee the planned giving program and legacy gift strategies
Manage and expand the monthly giving programs
Responsible for securing Grants for general operating expenses and unrestricted revenue Donor Relations & Engagement

POSITION SUMMARY
Under clinical supervision, provides assessment and recuperative services in the forms of individual, family, conjoint, and group counseling and education; generates appropriate documentation regarding, and acts to coordinate community services for victims traumatized by violence. There are no supervisory tasks associated with this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct counseling service to clients of Counseling Center programming, which includes but may not be limited to: assessment; individual, conjoint, group and family counseling; and educational classes.
Maintains up-to-date records of client contact as prescribed by the agency, including but not limited to: encounter notes; monthly/quarterly reports; assessment summaries; and closing reports.
Coordinates therapeutic services with other referring agencies as necessary.
Participates regularly in supervision, which may include, but is not limited to: group consultation; individual supervision; live (observed) supervision; and external consultation.
Participates in team meetings, as scheduled (non-residential and counseling center meetings).
Provides a minimum of 22 direct (face-to-face) clinical units (18.3 clock hours) of service per week, unless otherwise instructed.
Assumes responsibility for own ongoing clinical growth; remains current with field literature; attends training as required by program, licensure or personal objectives. YWCA financial support may be utilized as available for training.
Participates in internal and external committees as needed.
Provides court testimony as appropriate.
Secures and maintains appropriate licensure, based on degree, in the State of Michigan.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or closely related field from an accredited university.
Specific training in child sexual abuse, family therapy, domestic violence, or sexual assault is highly preferred.
Two years (may include internships) of direct, clinical experience.
Licensure in the State of Michigan. At minimum, must have a limited license.
A demonstrated capacity to express self efficiently and professionally in written and oral formats.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a willingness to work from a team perspective in treatment provision.
Ability to manage stressful situations, i.e., client crisis, multiple and simultaneous duties, critical decision making, and court testimony.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Housing Support Advocate provides trauma-informed advocacy, case management, and housing stabilization services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking participating in Project HEAL housing programs, with a primary focus on Transitional Housing participants.
This position empowers survivors to achieve safety, stability, self-sufficiency, and permanent housing by utilizing a survivor-centered approach that promotes choice, dignity, and economic empowerment. The Housing Support Advocate works collaboratively with participants, landlords, community partners, and internal staff to support participants in overcoming barriers to safe and stable housing while ensuring compliance with HUD and other funding requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Survivor Advocacy and Case Management
· Conduct comprehensive intake, assessment, eligibility determination, and enrollment processes for housing program participants.
· Develop individualized service plans in partnership with participants that identify strengths, goals, housing needs, and barriers to self-sufficiency.
· Provide ongoing trauma-informed advocacy, case management, and supportive services to assist participants in achieving housing stability and personal goals.
· Maintain regular contact with participants through office visits, home visits, community meetings, and virtual communication.
· Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support as needed.
· Empower participants to make informed decisions regarding housing, employment, education, financial stability, and community resources.
· Assist participants in developing life skills, budgeting strategies, and long-term housing plans.
Housing Navigation and Stabilization
Assist participants in locating and securing safe, affordable housing.
Facilitate applications for housing resources, including MSHDA programs, Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), Permanent Supportive Housing, and other community housing opportunities.
Conduct housing inspections and habitability reviews in accordance with HUD and program requirements.
Evaluate housing units for rent reasonableness and program eligibility.
Build and maintain positive relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers.
Mediate landlord-tenant concerns and advocate for participants to promote successful tenancy.
Monitor housing placements and provide support to prevent housing instability and homelessness.
Program Compliance and Documentation
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records in compliance with HUD, funding source, agency, and confidentiality requirements.
Complete required case notes, assessments, service plans, progress reports, and program documentation within established timelines.
Track participant outcomes and program performance measures.
Assist with preparation of reports, audits, monitoring activities, and data collection requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and agency regulations governing housing and victim service programs.
Community Collaboration and Outreach
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, including housing providers, law enforcement agencies, courts, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and human service organizations.
Coordinate referrals and access to supportive services including employment assistance, workforce development, education, childcare, healthcare, transportation, and financial empowerment resources.
Represent Project HEAL and YWCA West Central Michigan at community meetings, coalitions, and partner events as assigned.
Promote awareness of housing and supportive services available to survivors.
Transportation and Participant Support
Provide transportation for participants when necessary and appropriate to support housing stability, safety, and access to services.
Assist with the delivery of food, household goods, and essential resources to participants as needed.
Maintain compliance with agency vehicle and transportation policies.
Team Participation
Participate in supervision, staff meetings, case consultations, trainings, and agency events.
Support a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing training and development.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing advocacy, case management, housing services, shelter services, or related social service support.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, survivor-centered advocacy, and domestic violence dynamics.
Understanding of housing resources, homelessness prevention programs, and housing navigation practices.
Ability to effectively manage crisis situations while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, landlords, community partners, and colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, racial, socioeconomic, and lived-experience backgrounds.

The YWCA West Central Michigan – an organization committed to empowering women, promoting diversity, and advocating for justice and equality – is seeking a full time Crisis Intervention Advocate (bilingual preferred) for our Advocacy and Resource Services.
The effort to end the crisis of domestic abuse and sexual violence is complex and consequently, the YWCA’s approach is multi-faceted. It includes an array of prevention and intervention services, as well as active participation in local, regional, and statewide collaborations. GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision, provides advocacy, safety planning, crisis assistance and service coordination to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in the YWCA's Advocacy and Resource Services, with the goal of empowering victims of violence to achieve safety and have access to YWCA and community resources that will further their safety and healing. In order for the above services to be available in Spanish and English, we prefer that an individual fluent in Spanish fill this position. A Spanish speaker would also provide Spanish language support for other staff in all other YWCA programming, including community presentations and activities, when requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field or high school diploma and minimal three year’s experience working with domestic violence, and/or home intervention programs. The ability to conduct advocacy in English and Spanish fluently is preferred. Exhibit working knowledge of computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and exhibit ability to utilize electronic case management system. Excellent assessment, organizational, listening, empathy and problem solving skills required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Ability to convey, endorse and enforce the guidelines, policies and/or procedures of the YWCA West Central Michigan.
