For over 40 years, the YWCA has honored exceptional women in our community and we are pleased to be able to continue this legacy in 2020. Our theme –“Tribute 2020Beyond the Ballroom” is a nod to the virtual format of this year’s program, as well as an inspirational call to action to live out the YWCA’s mission – eliminating racism, empowering women – November 11th and onward

Over the course of one hour, you’ll meet our two award recipients, nominated by the community and chosen for the exceptional ways the YWCA’s mission is reflected in their efforts. The Tribute 2020 student award recipient is another super-star and chosen from among the participants in the YWCA’s Helen Claytor Center for Girls’ Leadership. There will be videos and live interviews, highlights of the YWCA’s unique role during this extraordinary year and a preview of what’s to come, giving opportunities (Tribute is still a fundraiser too!), moments for you to actively participateand the formal unveiling of the YWCA’s new Community Engagement Program.

The landscape of our community has changed profoundly this year. Through it all the YWCA has been here, ready and able to care for those who turn to us. Our work has never been more urgent or relevant. Tribute 2020 is our answer to the immediate challenges of this moment and equally so a new leverage point to improve the lives of survivors by expanding the impact of our mission. Tribute 2020 will be both an event and an experience.
