Young Women for Change is a collaboration between the YWCA West Central Michigan and Michigan Women Forward. The program gives middle and high school students the opportunity to become involved in social justice and creating social change. Members attend and plan events, participate in service learning projects, and learn about various topics and social issues including:
- Gender Equity
- LGBTQ+ Rights
- Racial Equity
- Women’s Leadership
- Access to Education and Healthcare
- Environmental and Economic Justice
Young Women for Change meets weekly October-June at the YWCA in the Helen Claytor Center for Girls’ Leadership.
- Middle school meetings are held on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM
- High school meetings are held on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 PM

Note: Helen Claytor Center for Girls’ Leadership programming is open to all youth–cisgender, transgender, gender-nonconforming, genderqueer, and two-spirit people–who identify with girlhood, womanhood, or femininity.
