YW for Change

YW for Change (YWFC): Middle and High School

YW for Change provides girls and gender-expansive/non-binary youth with a supportive space to learn about social justice while building meaningful connections with each other and their communities.

YWFC organized a community documentary screening and panel discussion centered on sex education in schools

Members attend and plan community events, participate in service-learning projects, and learn about various topics and social issues including:

  • Activism and Leadership
  • Gender Equity
  • LGBTQ+ Rights
  • Racial Justice and Anti-Racism
  • Sexual Health and Reproductive Justice
  • Intersectionality and Identity
  • Self-Care and Empowerment
  • Civic Engagement

Our middle and high school YWFC groups meet weekly October-June at the YWCA in our Helen Claytor Center for Girls’ Leadership.

Meeting dates and times for the 2022-23 school year will be announced in September.
