The YWCA West Central Michigan is an affiliate of the national Girls Incorporated®, a nonprofit organization. Girls Inc.® at the YWCA West Central Michigan responds to the changing needs of girls and their communities through research-based programs and advocacy that empower girls to reach their full potential and to understand, value, and assert their rights.

Program Goals

  1. Focus on asset building activities that encourage emotional security, social development, safety, athletic and academic achievement in order to reduce girls' vulnerability to violence.
  2. Strive to enhance the capacity of adults (parents and mentors) to support, nurture, and guide our girls.
